After all, opening your closet is something if not one of the first things you look at every single morning. Aside from that, it’s one of the last things you encounter at the end of your day as well.
Having a capsule wardrobe is only the first step to taking the hassle out of getting dressed. But if you can never find your basics to put them together then it just kinda all defeats the purpose.

Hacks & Tips To The Best Closet Organization:
Closet Organization: Tip #1: Hanging up clothes & accessories
TARGET 24 Pack Wooden Hangers ($30)
I think we are all guilty on this one. I know I tend to throw clothes on top of a piece of furniture and it can quickly become a pile of clothes and adds to just another cluttered mess.
Heck, I’ve been guilty of hanging bras and tanks on door knobs. I know, I know, that’s horrible.
Something as simple as being disciplined to hang our clothes and accessories in an orderly manner really does make a difference when decluttering your closet and for functionality.

Closet Organization: Tip #2: Utilizing shelf space
IKEA GNABBAS Shelf Basket Storage ($7.99)
If your closet already has good shelves for storage then you are lucky! Go on and use it!
Those top out-of-reach shelves are pure gold!
Many times shelves might be out of our reach which will lead to not utilizing the space. This is a huge mistake!
I know, I’ve been there! Being only 5’1 I have made this mistake.
But whether you choose to use it for shoes, handbags, folded clothes, or jewelry, it really doesn’t matter as long as it is space that is utilized!
And for items that you don’t want to be visible simply add baskets to give it a more uniform and structured look.
Closet Organization: Tip #3: Incorporating bookshelves
IKEA White Shelf Unit ($50)
Bookshelves are essential when you don’t have any shelf space in your closet. I’ve personally purchased some initially to store all my shoes.
After a few years, I repurposed them for closet shelf storage. Moral of the story is don’t sleep on the value of a good bookshelf that you might already have in your home.
Bookshelves are great for storing other accessories as well such as handbags, sunglasses, and jewelry.

WAYFAIR Shoe Rack ($51)
As I just covered using bookshelves was how I solved my problem of creating storage that I was lacking. However, there are tons of other storage & organization options out there that can also be used as decor.
Yes, that’s right! Storage can also be a form of decor in your home.
You only need to go look on sites like Wayfair to see how they sell cute shoe racks and benches for the front door foyer area.
I particularly have this in my home right now. It offers a great organized way to dock those shoes at the door on a rainy day.
Closet Organization: Tip #5: Purse organization
ETSY Acrylic Shelf Dividers ($42)
Another accessory that can easily get lost in clutter and boxes is those essential handbags we love so much.
And as women, we like to invest in different styles of handbags for all occasions.
Displaying them in your closet is a great way to “decorate” your closet. Or displaying them on bookshelves in your office is also another great way to decorate your office.
Remember organization can be a fun way of decorating. The idea is to utilize all the space you have. So for many of us, this requires being creative with how we store all of our beloved pieces.

How adorable are these wooden displays on Etsy? Displays like this are just one great way for storing and displaying all those great jewelry pieces you’ve invested in.
Jewelry stands, trees, boxes, display trays, and small decorative plates are some options to choose from. And any one of these is a great way to keep your pieces in safe places where they are easily accessible.
